The 10th Anniversary of the Genesis Enterprise Programme is an excellent opportunity for all those associated with the Programme to celebrate its remarkable achievements. It is a prime example of the successful synthesis of the resources of the Development Agencies and Educational Institutions in stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.

Over the last 10 years, I have witnessed the contribution of Genesis as a catalyst for the creation of a vibrant entrepreneurial community in the South West region. Genesis has encouraged and nurtured these entrepreneurs who are now supporting our country’s development into a knowledge based economy.

The greatest testament to the contribution by Genesis to the region is through its alumni. Now successful business leaders, employers and international companies, many whom I meet attribute their success to the direction and development they received through the Programme.

I want to pay particular tribute to the Genesis participants, the entrepreneurs who crossed the Rubicon, faced the obstacles and persisted!

My warmest congratulations to the Genesis Enterprise Programme on its 10th Anniversary and I extend my best wishes for its future success,
